Choosing Diapers for Sensitive Skin: A Parent's Guide
Materials, fit, and the ingredients worth checking — a practical walkthrough for easily-irritated skin.

If your baby's skin flares up at the slightest thing, the diaper is the first place to look — it's the one item touching their skin around the clock.
Start with the inside layer. Fragrance-free, chlorine-free, and lotion-free cores are the baseline for sensitive skin; anything scented is a common trigger.
Fit matters as much as materials. A diaper that gapes leaks; one that digs leaves red marks. Re-check sizing every couple of months — babies grow in bursts, and the 'age' on the box means nothing.
Change frequency beats everything else. Even the best diaper irritates when left on too long, especially overnight. If nights are the problem, size up one step for bedtime absorbency.
Finally, give the skin air. Ten minutes of diaper-free time a day does more than any cream, and a zinc-oxide barrier at night protects the areas that need it most.
Rashes that blister, spread, or last more than three days deserve a pediatrician's eyes — trust your instinct.
